The Battle of Flowers Parade

This is the oldest and largest parade in San Antonio and attracts more than 350,000 people. It is also the only parade in the United States produced entirely by women, all of whom are volunteers. You can pick these ladies out of the crown by their head to toe yellow clothing. Be sure to get your tickets and come watch this parade of beautifully decorated floats, antique cars, and uniformed cavalcades performing routines.

Culinaria Festival Week

All you foodies out there are familiar with the quote “I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food” by W.C. Fields, but what you may not be aware of is the incredible food festival happening May 19th, 2016 in San Antonio. Come and celebrate all things food. From the best food trucks around to barbeque and beer. Don’t miss this extravaganza.

Fiesta Especial Royalty 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk

Lace up your running shoes, dress in your finest fiesta wear, and get ready for some good old fashioned fun. This all ages event is on Saturday, April 23rd, so bring your family down to the Windcrest City Hall to enjoy some fresh spring air and excitement. Costumes are encouraged, so adorn yourself in the brightest of brights and floral head pieces. After you complete the 5k or the 1 mile walk you and your family can kick back, relax, and enjoy the parade.

San Antonio Book Festival

Whether you are a lover of the written word by others or want to submit a book of your own into the fiction contest, the San Antonio book festival is the place for you. Come to the beautiful downtown Central Library on April, 2nd and celebrate national and local authors. This event is free and is definitely a gift to the visitors and citizens of the great city of San Antonio.
